On May 24, the first day of the special legislative session, Kentuckians who support an adequate state budget will rally on the Capitol steps at 5:00 p.m. Organizations, including KEA, which are part of the Kentucky Forward coalition, will call on the legislature to do what's right for Kentucky's children and working families. KEA invites everyone to the Capitol who can possibly make it. We realize many KEA members will still be in school, so we ask for those who can't make it to the Capitol rally to stage one in your hometown. Our message is simple: the Kentucky General Assembly must do everything possible to keep Kentucky learning. You can read more about the rally in the Advocate. It is important for all KEA members to act now.
Please share this information with every school employee and anyone who is concerned about the pending cuts to the state budget. We need everyone now. If you have questions, please forward them to Mona Ball at firstname.lastname@example.org or Mary Ann Blankenship at email@example.com. If you will attend the rally, please complete the survey located at http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22AP39FVNDJ
Remember, Rally, Monday, May 24, 5:00 pm. Rally at home or at the state Capitol. Take lots of pictures, and call your local newspaper.
